Platform Hardware Engineer, Google Cloud

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in board design, validation, and with design tools (e.g., schematic capture, layout tools, lab bring up, and debug)
  • Experience with server, storage, or networking motherboard/system hardware.
  • Experience with high speed design, signal integrity, and power distribution techniques.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 8 years of experience with enterprise class hardware systems design, data center engineering, server, storage, and networking products.
  • Experience solving complex system issues, technical innovation, and driving technical roadmap.
  • Experience with FPGA/CPLD design and interface with other disciplines including software, thermal, and mechanical.
  • Experience collecting and organizing details to reproduce and explain results.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a sub-system and hardware design on data center hardware products.
  • Bring up systems and execute engineering validation in the lab.
  • Gather requirements, define high level architecture, execute hardware design, and product validation.
  • Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, product, and deployment teams to productive designs and field support.
