Technical Lead, Borglet

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
  • 5 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.
  • 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products.
  • 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience in working with and influencing a group of people.
  • Experience with software engineering.
  • Experience in a security-related role, specifically in infrastructure security or distributed systems security.
  • Experience with coding in an unmanaged language (e.g., Rust, C, C++).
  • Experience in concurrency, multithreading and synchronization.

As a Technical Lead with prior experience in Infrastructure Security, you will help us drive the long term roadmap for Borg, making sure we bring significant user experience improvements to our customers as well as provide the most secure infrastructure in the world.

From developing and maintaining our data centers to building the next generation of Google platforms, we make Google's product portfolio possible. Responsibilities

  • Drive the long-term strategy for Borglet security and other core development areas.
  • Work with other security-focused Technical Leads to propose and prioritize security-related initiatives for Google's fleet.
  • Translate user requirements into technical features and capabilities.
  • Design solutions to problems or efforts spanning through multiple systems in and outside of the team.
  • Plan and oversee the execution of the implementation efforts.
