Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in software development, and with data structures/algorithms.
- 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products, and 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
- 5 years of experience with full stack development, across back-end such as Java, Python, GO, or C++ codebases, and front-end experience including JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, CSS or equivalent.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
- 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.
- Experience with Enterprise Applications.
- Expertise in Large Scale Distributed System.

As a Software Engineer in Compute, you work on strategy and new initiatives for Compute Frontend, interact with our partner teams on a daily basis to help influence the direction of the overall project, and promote the customer experience.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $189,000-$284,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Build reliable, scalable, and efficient management for Google Compute Engine (GCE) Enterprise customers, including pipelines, workflows, and services.
- Collaborate with dependency teams to help design and implement subsystems to solve their problems and integrate with our platform.
- Design and make critical technical decisions across teams.
- Influence and establish best engineering practices through solid design decisions, processes and tools.
- Work closely alongside UX, PM, and dependency peer teams to design and iterate upon features.
