Data Insights Analyst Manager, Trust and Safety Compute

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, etc.) or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in data analytics, trust and safety, policy, cybersecurity, business strategy, or related fields.
  • 1 year of experience in people management, as a lead, or coaching or mentoring others.
  • Experience with fraud, security and threat analysis in the context of Internet-related products/activities.
  • Experience with datasets and analytical tools (e.g., SQL, R, Python).
  • Experience with developing visualizations from data.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with project management, including metrics analysis, experiment design and automation.
  • Experience in statistical analyses, modeling and machine learning methods.
  • Familiarity with established procedures for responding to potential regulatory violations, investigation protocol, and any mandatory reporting requirements to government agencies.
  • Ability to tailor messaging to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent problem solving skills and a quantitative mindset, with the ability to translate insights into business strategies and actions.

About the job

As a Data Insights Analyst, you will drive strategic decision-making through in-depth data analysis, delivering actionable insights and recommendations with minimal supervision. You will oversee a team of vertical analysts, utilizing problem solving prowess and thought leadership to guide them in uncovering patterns of abuse, evaluating the significance of features in decision-making models, and leading cross-functional initiatives to ensure the safety of users on our platforms.

In this role, you will search vast datasets to discover anomalies, identify abuse patterns, and uncover product vulnerabilities. You will work with key business partners to understand data needs, write Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) scripts, and collaborate closely with other internal teams. You will be the trusted leader and subject matter expert, cultivating in-depth knowledge within the designated areas of expertise. You will be the go-to resource for insights and guidance on complex issues. You will drive to develop and implement processes that proactively combat abuse.

Responsibilities

  • Support and execute a practical and high impact data strategy by leading a dedicated analyst team to work closely with operations, product and Engineering across Trust and Safety Compute.
  • Work with large, diverse datasets from the Play Store ecosystem (e.g., review history etc.). Investigate the root causes of business problems, providing solutions that go beyond superficial observations.
  • Build and maintain analysis pipelines to provide scalable insights for risk monitoring and decision-making. Generate regular reports on key risk metrics, trends, and operations insights for leaders and stakeholders.
  • Prepare and deliver clear, concise presentations on health of operation, analysis findings, and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Design and implement automated and standardized analysis tools and dashboards using Looker, empowering users to uncover business opportunities and make informed decisions.
