Strategic Partnership Development Manager, Fitbit

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in business development, or business building, in the health and fitness or healthcare space.
  • Experience managing partnership engagements with partners, including structuring and negotiating the business, technology and legal issues.
  • Experience leading product partnerships with cross-functional team members in a fluid environment.
  • Experience in health tech, fitness, wellness or AI space.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or other advanced degree.
  • 8 years of relevant experience, including 4 years of business development or business building experience space.
  • Experience leading complex partnership engagements, demonstrating a proven ability to analyze economic models, build compelling business cases, and negotiate intricate business, technology, and legal terms.
  • Experience working in a dynamic, collaborative, and fluid environment.
  • Experience with complex communication, translating intricate technical, contractual, and financial details into clear, impactful presentations and analyses.

About the job

Our Business Development team is leading the charge in integrating Google's latest health and fitness innovations into our growing ecosystem, with a significant focus on the Fitbit mobile application. In this role, you will work closely with our product and partner engineering teams to identify, source, and negotiate agreements with key partners. Your efforts will be crucial in expanding Fitbit's reach to more users through a Business-to-Business-to-Consumer (B2B2C) model. This means owning the entire agreement life-cycle from building robust pipelines to successful execution this includes representing the customer to inform the development and launch of new Fitbit features and the overarching product strategy.

You will be investigative, owning financial planning and strategy, and possess a deep product understanding to co-create effective user experiences alongside our partners. You will be curious, on solving complex problems at both macro and micro levels, and at navigating issues in a fluid, cross-functional environment.

The Global Partnerships organization is responsible for exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Google’s Global Partnerships team works with a wide range of partners to bring the best of Google to power their business. The Global Partnerships team supports Google’s own Product teams with essential partnerships to help Google’s user experiences in advertising, Search, Assistant, Maps, Travel, Shopping, Payments and more. Teams create product-enabling partnerships, go-to-market strategies and incubate business growth for a variety of products.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $134,000-$196,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Work closely with our Product and Partner Engineering team to build and execute engagements with potential partners. These agreements will require acuity in creativity and problem-solving.
  • Work cross-functionally to influence the overall product roadmap and health priorities. Collaborate across various product areas to find and deliver the greatest value for our partners and users.
  • Define, negotiate, and successfully close groundbreaking product, technology, business, and go-to-market agreements. These will be agreements, including terms related to the distribution, collaboration, and business generation of our health products.
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Legal, Strategy and Operations, Finance, and other cross-Product and Devices teams. Together, you will define, validate, and scale innovative new business and business models, such as distribution frameworks, with our health and fitness partners.
