Technical Program Manager, Chrome Trust and Safety

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience working with cross-functional teams that build software for data privacy or security.
  • Experience with back end developing for the open web, including web standards bodies and Chromium.
  • 2 years of relevant experience in software development.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 2 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience using various program/project management tools and systems.
  • Ability to work separately and navigating ambiguity within a dynamic organization.
  • Excellent problem-solving, investigative, communication and influencing skills.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional teams of engineers, product managers, and UX designers/researchers in executing projects and programs from concept to launch, planning, tracking progress, identifying and resolving issues and managing dependencies.
  • Design and roll-out processes and tools to increase the velocity of engineering teams and the quality of product launches.
  • Provide program management leadership for the portfolio of Trust and Safety (T&S) priorities and establish effective partnerships with Engineering, Product and UX leads.
  • Deliver continuous and goaled transparency to keep core team members aligned and stakeholders informed.
  • Leverage an understanding of Trust and Safety feature development to identify and build new operational improvements and processes.
