Customer Engineering Manager, Small and Medium Businesses

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of experience as a technical sales engineer in a cloud computing environment or in a customer- or partner-facing role.
  • Experience managing a quota-carrying team.
  • Experience leading and managing externally facing engineering teams (e.g., pre-sales, post-sales, partners, consulting).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with web/internet-related technologies; architecture across SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS; and cloud productivity suites.
  • Experience in consulting with excellent project management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead scaled customer engineers to engage and prioritize business opportunities with startup, digital native, and SMB customers; identify sales and technical objections; help maintain pre/post sales customer satisfaction; and increase business generation.
  • Be a close partner with Google/Partners Sales teams to devise regional sales and market strategies.
  • Lead strategic projects that deliver assets to scale Google Cloud business and empower individual customer engineers to lead and execute projects to scale impact.
  • Work with management to determine proper staffing levels to support annual goals, establish job requisitions, and assemble candidate pools to fill open positions.
  • Assess individual performance with active, individual, and progressive feedback and ensure the team is properly trained and equipped to successfully perform in support of annual goals.
