Infrastructure and Database Business Practice Lead, Google Cloud

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in a customer-facing role in the enterprise technology space.
  • 8 years of experience in SaaS, IaaS and PaaS sales or consulting.
  • 5 years of experience with Data Platforms applications and positioning.
  • Experience with database management tools for backups, recovery, snapshot management, partitioning and archival, database performance tuning including network performance, storage performance, and database tuning techniques.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 12 years of experience in promoting to enterprise customers.
  • Experience with database technologies such as Oracle, DB2, PostgreSQL,MySQL, Redis, Memcache, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, Cassandra, and database administration techniques including storage, clustering, availability, disaster recovery, security, logging, monitoring and auditing.
  • Understanding of the Data Platforms technology stack and deployment options in the cloud.
  • Ability to collaborate across organizational boundaries, build relationships, and achieve broader organizational goals.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication/presentation skills, and effective strategic and problem-solving skills. Ability to plan, pitch, and execute a start to finish sales strategy.

As the Head of Data Platforms Sales, you will be a solution sales executive, overlaying to our direct enterprise sales organization, and working with our customers to help them shape their cloud strategy and enable their digital transformation. Data Platforms is a linchpin in the data center; pulling with its other mission workloads. You will demonstrate your knowledge of Data Platforms offerings, the Data Platforms team and customer base, and the sales strategies required to help prospective customers and partners understand the power of Google Cloud and navigate the acquisition processes. As a member of the Google Cloud team, your focus is on customers that want to run Data Platforms workloads on Google Cloud Platform. You will advocate for the innovative power of our products to make organizations more productive, collaborative, and mobile.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Data Platforms workloads on Google Cloud within the assigned region or vertical.
  • Generate a plan to ensure broad engagement with accounts. Lead the rollout of offerings in the region and ensure collaboration and engagement with sales teams. Develop strategies to accelerate the business cycle in a fast-paced environment.
  • Work with Google Account teams and Data Platforms counterparts to drive demand, and provide guidance to Marketing/Partners to develop campaigns. Build a pipeline of customers within assigned regions or verticals.
  • Build and maintain executive relationships with customers, influencing strategic direction and acting as a trusted advisor.
  • Manage and direct a virtual team during the business cycle. Be the advocate for Data Platforms within the Google Cloud region/vertical.
