Business Analyst II, Trust and Safety, YouTube

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Math, Quantitative Science, or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of experience working in data analytics, consulting, data science, engineering, or a technical operations role.
  • 3 years of experience in statistical problem-solving and analyzing data sets using SQL or comparable coding language (e.g. Python, R, Java, C++).

Preferred qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience in an investigative role.
  • Experience with abuse prevention, policy and regulatory systems.
  • Experience in extracting, sampling and visualization of data sets, writing and maintaining ETLs which operate on a variety of structured and unstructured sources, delivering production level metrics, insights and actions
  • Experience in data analysis, with the ability to solve problems in fast-moving, and ambiguous business environments through solid data intuition and business acumen.
  • Experience in project management and process optimization with data analytics.
  • Ability to effectively communicate analysis and recommendations across a wide range of non-technical audiences.

In this role, you will help deliver on YouTube’s mission to give everyone a voice, show them the world and build a community. As a Business Analyst, you will utilize data and problem-solving techniques to define success metrics for YouTube trust and safety operations, measure business performance and communicate convincing narrative to top executives and outside world. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $117,000-$167,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Build, develop and measure YouTube-wide abuse performance metrics and operational metrics (productivity, efficiency, timeliness etc.) and generate insights to improve business ability to decrease prevalence of violative content on platform.
  • Apply technical concepts and systems to deliver and clearly communicate meaningful results and methods.
  • Collaborate with Data Science and Strategy teams to prioritize and execute sophisticated quantitative analyses and advanced modeling that deliver actionable insights.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, define requirements, and collaborate cross-functionally and globally to improve processes and tools.
  • Analyze and debug escalations and identify trends that can indicate bigger product risks.
