Financial Analyst, Workforce Finance, Cloud Central Finance

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or another quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), consulting, or a related function, or an advanced degree.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with spreadsheet modeling, financial and decision analysis, working with large datasets and technical abilities utilizing SQL.
  • Ability to understand and communicate insights with executive management, self-initiate and self-direct work in an unstructured environment, and manage ambiguity.
  • Excellent problem-solving, quantitative modeling and project management skills, attention to detail, process improvement and applying judgment.

Financial Analysts ensure that Google makes sound financial decisions. As a Financial Analyst, your work, whether it's modeling business scenarios or tracking performance metrics, is used by our leaders to make strategic company decisions. While working on multiple projects at a time, you are focused on the details while finding creative ways to solve big picture challenges.

The Central Finance team supports Cloud leadership by providing them timely, accurate, and actionable insights to support the growth and profitability of the business. As Workforce Finance, our mission is to deliver the most pertinent insights and strategic financial recommendations to leadership, influencing towards Cloud's unique needs and acting as the financial steward of Payroll costs within the consolidated Cloud Profit and Loss. Our team leads the development of financial plans and mechanisms that empower the business to optimize for efficient growth across locations, products, and business segments. We are keenly focused on delivering a complete workforce strategy through planning, evaluating, and seeking deeper insights towards meeting our goals and objectives.

From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $113,000-$162,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Develop an in-depth understanding of the Google Cloud business, our headcount landscape, and our business economics. Gather and analyze people data to derive key insights, develop a compelling narrative, and create actionable recommendations for leaders.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert in helping the business effectively manage headcount against our strategic initiatives.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with People Operations, Staffing, Strategy and Operations, and Real Estate and Workplace Services (REWS) teams to design, develop, and monitor implementation of workforce initiatives.
  • Lead the process improvement for headcount related utilization metrics, reports, and dashboards in partnership with relevant stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain sophisticated financial models to support annual planning, long-range planning, scenario analysis, and ad-hoc requests from key stakeholders.
