Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, a related field or equivalent practical experience.
- 4 years of experience in global supply chain management in consumer electronics with manufacturing and supply chain processes.
- Experience in Inventory Management (IM), metal Computer Numerical Control (CNC), Hinge, Die-casting, Material in Motion (MIM), forging, Glass, Painting, Plating, Stamping and Die-cuts commodity management.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree in a Business Administration, Technical or Engineering field.
- Experience with the Asian market and multinational environments.
- Experience with project management, with excellent problem-solving and investigative thinking skills.
- Ability to operate in a changing environment and collaborate cross-functionally with industrial design, development, legal, and operations teams.
- Ability to travel as needed.
- Excellent communication skills.

Commodity Managers work with Engineering teams to make sure Google has the supplies and equipment to put into production the innovative products coming from our Engineering teams. As a Commodity Manager, you use your wide industry knowledge and strategic supplier relationships to optimize our total cost of ownership for our global -- and growing -- infrastructure. The scale at which Google operates means that savings on just one piece of hardware can have a huge impact on Google's bottom line.In this role, you will work on the supply chain for mechanical parts for consumer devices and lead the sourcing strategy, selection, capital investment, and commercial discussions of suppliers for Mechanical commodities of Google hardware devices. You will work cross-functionally to developresponsive, and sustainable supply chain solutions that enable quality and helpful products developed in partnership with our Engineering teams. You will use industry knowledge and supplier relationships to optimize total cost of ownership for global supply chain, develop cost models and manage supply chain risk through all phases of product development in support of growing Google hardware business.The Google Pixel team focuses on designing and delivering the world's most helpful mobile experience. The team works on shaping the future of Pixel devices and services through some of the most advanced designs, techniques, products, and experiences in consumer electronics. This includes bringing together the best of Google’s artificial intelligence, software, and hardware to build global smartphones and create transformative experiences for users across the world.
Responsibilities
- Drive all aspects of the commercial and contractual engagement with a global mechanical supply base. Manage overall Mechanical material spend and related capital investments. Develop and execute global supply chain strategies.
- Manage suppliers to ensure production readiness, assurance of supply, and overall quality in support of New Product Introduction (NPI) builds and sustaining operations.
- Drive partnerships with internal partners including Engineering, Marketing, and Operations to drive cost effective, and quality solutions that support our overall product launch and sustainability goals.
- Manage supply chain risk while creating flexible and responsive supply chain solutions. Drive cost reductions with Should Cost Model and influence partners for cost supply chain solutions.
