Data Center Operations Manager

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in computing infrastructure, networking, operating systems, or hardware.
  • 5 years of experience managing technical teams, vendor or contract management and delivery.
  • Ability to work non-standard hours and differing rotations/shifts.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in managing technical teams, vendors, and service delivery, with a track record of executing strategic global initiatives.
  • Experience in data center infrastructure, network architecture, and Linux/Unix system administration, including building and operating systems.
  • Ability in problem-solving and leading Environmental Health and Safety fostering a safety culture and team environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving including data gathering, analysis, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent business-level fluency in the local language, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration with local stakeholders.

About the job

You will lead a team of Data Center Technicians who perform quality installations of server and network hardware and their components, and maintain and troubleshoot any challenges while modeling teamwork with a positive impact to site culture. You will also manage day-to-day operations and guide the team through the installation, configuration, testing, troubleshooting and decommissioning of our servers. In a similar fashion, you will also oversee the deployment of network components of the data center, lead teams on installations and develop project contingency plans.

The Data Center team designs and operates some of the most sophisticated electrical and HVAC systems in the world. We are an upbeat, creative, team-oriented group of engineers committed to building and operating powerful data centers.

  • Oversee the day-to-day management of teams within data center operations.
  • Communicate business priorities, and are consistent with company objectives.
  • Work together to identify and resolve problems, create solutions for our global computing and network architecture.
  • Hire, coach and develop a team while achieving business goals and fostering and collaborative team environment.
  • Demonstrate the ability to implement and drive the safety culture at the site.
