Entity Accountant

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Qualified Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Accountant (ACCA).
  • 2 years post-qualification experience in Finance or Treasury, working on cross-functional initiatives.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as SAP or Google Sheets.
  • Experience in business partnering, with excellent problem-solving and investigative abilities.
  • Knowledge of tax, accounting rules and compliance regulation of some countries in the Middle East region and internal controls and Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) compliance.
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional, changing environment and to lead and drive operational initiatives.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate effectively with executive management.

The international controller-ship seeks to ensure that any Alphabet company can do any business in any country. From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for overseeing the annual statutory financial statements and tax compliance process, including management of the external audit and tax filings for a portfolio of Alphabet companies in EMEA.
  • Perform analysis of the financials, ensuring the integrity and financial accuracy of our books and records. Prepare, analyze, and post journals at the end of the month. Prepare and present financial information to different audiences, including finance leaders, business partners, auditors, and regional accountants.
  • Balance sheet management and review reconciliations of key balance sheet account balances including reporting for the same.
  • Manage the delivery of accounting processes performed by external vendors to ensure that all service levels are met, the internal control environment and quality service are provided.
  • Develop knowledge of tools and applications in support of the accounting function and highlight opportunities for improvement.
