About the job
The xplat Frameworks teams at YouTube build frameworks and tools that enable YouTube engineers to develop delightful, high-performance User Interfaces on mobile in a cross-platform way. With Elements, developers can write UI items once for Android apps, and can deploy features from the server without app updates, with the UI looking and feeling identical to purely platform-native UI items.
Highly passionate about Android native mobile development and user experience, the members on the xplat Platform Integration fulfills the xplat vision at YouTube by utilizing Android SDKs and the best of open source libraries. Even though we are implementing a cross-platform framework, we don't settle for lowest common denominator - we let the best of Android platform shine through an expressive, common interface that all front-end engineers can utilize.
At YouTube, we believe that everyone deserves to have a voice, and that the world is a better place when we listen, share, and build community through our stories. We work together to give everyone the power to share their story, explore what they love, and connect with one another in the process. Working at the intersection of cutting-edge technology and boundless creativity, we move at the speed of culture with a shared goal to show people the world. We explore new ideas, solve real problems, and have fun — and we do it all together.
