Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g. Python, Go, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
- 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing projects, with 3 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in designing, analysing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
- Experience in recruiting, interview, and onboarding new engineering talent.
- Ability to debug and optimize code and automate routine tasks.
- Excellent problem-solving, and verbal and written communication skills.

With technical and leadership expertise, you manage engineers across multiple teams and locations, a large product budget and oversee the deployment of large-scale projects across multiple sites internationally.
In this role, you will modernize the Control Plane Framework for Google Compute Engine (GCE) to build, operate and evolve service control planes with high quality and velocity, while being compliant with horizontals and standard best practices.

Responsibilities
- Lead a team of software engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback.
- Foster a collaborative team environment, promoting open communication and knowledge sharing.
- Drive the technical goal and strategy for the team, aligning it with broader organizational goals.
- Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of software projects, ensuring quality, timeliness, and efficiency.
- Identify and address technical challenges and roadblocks, proactively finding solutions.
