Field Solutions Architect Manager, Google Cloud

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience building advanced solutions and developing business applications, using established frameworks and methods.
  • 2 years of experience managing a technical customer-facing team in a cloud computing environment in the field of advanced technology.
  • Experience coding in one or more languages such as Python, Typescript, Java, Go, or similar.

Preferred qualifications:

  • MBA or Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
  • Experience leading design thinking workshops to ideate, design, and plan advanced solutions.
  • Ability to translate technical knowledge into clear, everyday language to craft narratives that demonstrate business and technical value to customers.

About the job

As a Google Cloud Field Solutions Architect (FSA) Manager, you will leverage your experience and thought leadership in the field of advanced solutions to lead a team of Field Solutions Architects. You will design and develop innovative prototypes in collaboration with our customers and partners, utilizing Google Cloud's advanced technologies. You will partner with innovative companies and enterprises, providing consultative guidance across Google Cloud's portfolio, with a particular focus on data management, security, and infrastructure (TPU/GPU).

In this role, you will help customers translate their business needs and technical environment into solution requirements, co-create prototypes with customers, and work closely with partners and broader teams who bring those to production. You will support and advise customers in developing their long-term technology strategy.

Beyond leading your team of Field Solutions Architects (FSAs) in building prototypes, this could also include, for example, running benchmarks, using specialized accelerators, developing migration paths, and helping to analyze cost versus performance. You will build relationships with other Google teams and with external customer stakeholders, identifying innovative ways to scale the impact of the team as a whole.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop, and nurture a team of Google Cloud Field Solutions Architects (FSAs) to engage with cutting-edge and enterprise customers on their technology-driven transformation journey.
  • Collaborate with customers to deliver Cloud prototypes that demonstrate customer business value, technical viability, and a path to business.
  • Develop and nurture relationships with technical leaders at customers, and lead FSA engagements to ideate, design, and build advanced prototypes.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to prioritize customers, their needs, and bring new product innovations to customers.
  • Set your team’s business goals, objectives, and results as aligned with your leadership, and develop best practices to achieve those goals. Work closely with the Google Cloud Sales leaders to prioritize and plan customer engagements.
