Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of experience in managing and building teams.
  • 6 years of experience in telecommunications working with optical network infrastructure, transmission systems, layer2/3 routers, and data services.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with data center operations and network build-outs.
  • Experience in a leadership role.
  • Knowledge of cloud computing, Linux server environments, network design and deployment, and managing infrastructure.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and program management skills.

As a member of the team, you have a direct impact on design and feature enhancements to keep our systems running smoothly. In this role, you will own and serve as the primary point of contact (POC) while leading a team of skilled Network Implementation Engineers responsible for the execution and implementation of network build, operations, and maintenance across Metros and Data Centers. You will be ensuring project execution, optimizing resource allocation, and promoting a collaborative environment.Behind everything our users see online is the architecture built by the Technical Infrastructure team to keep it running. From developing and maintaining our data centers to building the next generation of Google platforms, we make Google's product portfolio possible. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $144,000-$211,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and manage project interdependencies, mitigate conflicts, and ensure alignment.
  • Establish priorities, balance deadlines, resources, and risks using data-motivated approaches.
  • Communicate and coordinate execution across dispersed teams.
  • Provide guidance on network architecture (e.g., Edge, WAN, DCNet) and promote team growth.
  • Drive automation, efficiency, and cost reduction in network delivery processes.
