Engineering Manager, Developer X

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing projects, with 2 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization.
  • Experience with software and production development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Dart, Go, C++, Java, Kotlin, Typescript).
  • Experience delivering developer tools, languages, AI Agents, and ML models.
  • Experience in building and deploying fullstack applications and servers.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the roadmap working closely with Product Managers and Tech leads across Developer X and Google.
  • Grow technical leadership within the team, leading to exceptional innovation and execution.
  • Build a diverse and inclusive team culture, from the ground up.
  • Be responsible for the entire technical lifecycle, defining the technical direction to launch and ongoing optimization.
  • Empower, coach, guide, and support engineers in the team and steer the successful delivery of work across teams. Develop the capability of your team and the wider organization by facilitating internal mobility, shaping career paths, recruiting talent and ensuring effective collaboration.
