Managing Director, Ads Solutions, Scaled Solutions Engineering Hub

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 15 years of experience managing technical services and operations. 12 years of people management experience, leading regional/global teams.
  • Experience leading technical teams in a people manager/team lead/tech lead and technical customer facing capacity.
  • Experience working with cloud or enterprise grade systems architecture and design, including aspects related to security and processes in relation to data governance for technical teams.
  • Experience leading teams through changes.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in managing technical services and operations preferably in global scale internet platforms.
  • Experience working in a cross-functional environment across multiple countries.
  • Experience in online advertising or experience with Google Ads Products.
  • Experience leading an operational business with a focus on results and data.
  • Familiarity and experience with the ad serving industry, internet technologies, data integration projects and cloud technologies.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts to non-technical and executive audiences.

The gTech Ads Solutions organization provides consultative services that combine deep technical, product, and media expertise with a powerful understanding of our customers’ needs and goals to solve their big business challenges, help customers grow, and get the most out of Google Solutions.

gTech Ads Solutions is invested in building a dedicated team of technical experts building scaled technical solutions that enable our customers across Large Customer Solutions (LCS) and Google Customer Solutions (GCS) to adopt Google Media. The purpose of this team is to drive engineering best practices, compliance and robust coding quality controls for global customer solutions engineering teams, consistency, centralization, and scale for gTech Ads. As Managing Director, you will be responsible for the overall technical direction of the gTech Ads Solutions organization.

In this role, you will lead critical teams globally each with distinct remits, but with direct interplay with each other, GCS Scaled Solutions, LCS Engineering, and Engineering Leads.

The GCS Scaled Solutions team works with GCS Revenue StratOps, Prod and Sales Activation, and gTech Ads Enablement teams to design, build, and deliver technical solutions for GCS customers. The LCS Engineering team partners with gTech Ads Regional teams, Enablement, and Product organizations to design, build, and deliver scaled technical solutions for LCS customers. The Engineering Leads is a team of technical experts are responsible for ensuring consistency and compliance in how we deliver scaled technical solutions while driving infrastructure and automation solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, inspire, and grow a diverse and cross-functional team with passion, action orientation, and clear shared goals while also having fun. Develop the team to individual and collective wins. 
  • Understand and advocate comprehensively for initiatives across gTech Ads.
  • Produce actionable, results-oriented strategies to solve complex, ambiguous, open-ended business problems.
  • Build deep stakeholder relationships both internally and externally across the rest of gTech/ other Google teams.
  • Serve as a senior technical leader. Be seen both internally and externally as a collaborative thought partner in this space. Oversee the central technical excellence function with a focus on technical building blocks and proactive infrastructure to ensure tech compliance at scale.
