Transportation Manager

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Research or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in managing warehousing and supply chain operations.
  • 3 years of experience in supply chain and manufacturing, and with technical hardware.
  • Experience in Transportation industry (i.e., Air, Sea, Express, Rail, Truck, etc.).

Preferred qualifications:

  • MBA or Master's degree in a technical or engineering field.
  • Experience in managing hardware supply chain.
  • Ability to work, influence, and resolve conflicts cross-functionally with internal/external partners.

About the job

As a Program Manager at Google, you will lead multi-disciplinary projects. You will plan requirements with internal customers and guide projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and communicating goals to project stakeholders. Your projects often span offices, time zones and hemispheres, and you will keep all the players coordinated on the project's progress.

The Google Hardware team is looking for a Transportation Operations Manager to help deliver forward the hardware business. On a day-to-day basis you will drive process improvement and apply general problem solving skills across our transportation, distribution and factory locations supporting multiple countries. You will also play a key role in supporting the delivery of global projects and managing regional specific initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple carriers across the region for supporting performance.
  • Ensure efficient and effective resolution of logistics challenges by delivering results with attention to detail.
  • Lead transportation carriers to establish facts, solve problems, establish action plans.
  • Manage and monitor metrics for Key Performance Indicators and vendor performance scorecards.
  • Mange Partner Operational budgets and cost approval process.
