Google's projects, like our users, span the globe and require managers to keep the big picture in focus while being able to dive into the unique engineering challenges we face daily. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You're equally at home explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.

Using your extensive technical and leadership expertise, you manage various Engineering-specific programs and teams.

The Gemini for Home Technical Program Manager (TPgM) team specifically shapes the next generation of intelligent home interactions, evolving our platforms from reactive command-execution to a truly proactive home agent.

The Google Home team focuses on hardware, software and services offerings for the home, ranging from thermostats to smart displays. The Home team researches, designs, and develops new technologies and hardware to make users’ homes more helpful. Our mission is the helpful home: to create a home that cares for the people inside it and the world around it.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $240,000-$338,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Orchestrate the roadmap for our Gemini for Home portfolio, defining how agentic personas, natural voice interaction, and intelligent capabilities seamlessly come to life for users.
  • Oversee the technical execution of complex agentic workflows that transform Google Home from a reactive assistant into a proactive partner that can assist users with multi-step tasks.
  • Establish the executive governance required for high-stakes, AI launches. Act as the critical connector between Home engineering, Google DeepMind, and wider Google AI teams to rapidly unblock dependencies, and deploy AI research breakthroughs at scale.
  • Serve as a highly credible thought leader on operationalizing complex Large Language Model (LLM) and GenAI technology shifts.
  • Manage, mentor, inspire and guide the TPgM team in navigating the ambiguity of generative AI, fostering a culture of rapid prototyping, evaluation, and technical excellence across voice and agentic workstreams.
