Head of Strategy and Operations, Platforms and Devices Partnerships

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in a management consulting, sales operations, business strategy or corporate advisory role.
  • 5 years of experience working with executive stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 4 years of experience in people management.
  • Experience structuring strategy for business organizations including experience in either management consulting or within internal strategy teams.
  • Experience partnering with executive (MD/VP) level stakeholders.
  • Experience working in a highly cross-functional organization.
  • Familiarity with key products/business including Android, Play, Chrome, Messages, Workspace etc.
  • Understanding of product or distribution partnerships.

About the job

The Platforms and Devices (P&D) Partnerships Strategy and Operations team creates and drives cohesive business strategy across the suite of its products: Android, Play, Chrome, ChromeOS, G1/Photos, Workspace, Auto, Home, IoT, Enterprise, Starline, Privacy Sandbox and more. We deeply understand the partner ecosystem and markets in which these products operate, and apply structured analysis and reasoning to help shape and execute strategy. We also drive thought leadership across our products and markets to inform strategic decisions across Platforms and Devices and broader Global Partnerships leadership teams. We also partner closely across key stakeholders in Business Development, Product Engineering, Marketing, Finance, and the broader GP/PSGTM organizations to drive scaled impact for our business and product partners.

In this role, you will manage and coach a team that works closely with the Platforms and Devices Partnerships team in APAC to enable regional success across the many products supported, including Android, Play, G1, and TV, acting as the principal thought partner to the VP of APAC Platforms and Devices Partnerships, to design and execute a cohesive strategy for the team enabling growth in the region.

The Global Partnerships organization is responsible for exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Google’s Global Partnerships team works with a wide range of partners to bring the best of Google to power their business. The Global Partnerships team supports Google’s own Product teams with essential partnerships to help Google’s user experiences in advertising, Search, Assistant, Maps, Travel, Shopping, Payments and more. Teams create product-enabling partnerships, go-to-market strategies and incubate business growth for a variety of products.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as thought partner to APAC Platforms and Devices VP to define Google’s regional partnership and strategy to build, distribute, and enable products with partners in order to grow the Android ecosystem. 
  • Be responsible for designing and executing strategies to ensure alignment with global partnerships strategy while also representing the region.
  • Lead Strategy and Operations team across APAC to shape and execute strategies, driving growth across Platforms and Device’s product portfolio by aligning closely with Partnerships, Product, regional leads, and cross-functional teams. Manage and coach through organizational change.
  • Partner closely with Global/AMER and EMEA leads to enable a consistent partnership and GTM strategy. 
  • Drive strategic planning including: guiding market approaches and agreement constructs, measuring the impact of our strategies, coordinating with cross-functional teams (Product, Finance, Legal, other Partnerships teams), and developing executive communications.
