Senior Software Engineer, Cloud Observability Compliance

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in programming with C++.
  • 5 years of experience testing, maintaining or launching software products.
  • 3 years of experience developing large-scale infrastructure and distributed systems and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.
  • Experience in one or more of the following such as security, privacy, identity, identity access management (IAM) or compliance.
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform or other cloud technologies.

As a part of the Cloud Observability Compliance team, you will enable highly regulated customers such as banks and healthcare providers to adopt Google Cloud Platform (GCP). You will be involved in designing, building and maintaining tools and monitoring systems that ensure GCP services meet the highest security and compliance standards. You will manage large-scale, mission-critical systems, gaining unique insights into GCP's inner workings while directly impacting the safety and reliability of cloud services for our clients.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $166,000-$244,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Develop and test code for product or system implementation. 
  • Participate in or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to evaluate and select optimal technologies.
  • Review code developed by others, providing constructive feedback to maintain best practices in style, accuracy, testability and efficiency. 
  • Contribute to documentation or educational materials, updating content based on product changes or user feedback.
  • Triage and resolve product or system issues by debugging, tracking and analyzing root causes and impacts.
