Investigations Counsel

Minimum qualifications:

  • JD, LL.B., equivalent degree, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Admitted to the bar and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law (e.g., have registered in-house status) in the state in which the position is located.
  • 7 years of attorney-level experience in government, in-house, or at a law firm.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 10 years of experience with investigations, legal, and regulatory matters, including strategically addressing and minimizing risk.
  • Experience handling or responding to data security incidents.
  • Experience developing, evaluating, and maintaining programs that ensure products comply with laws, regulations, and external commitments.
  • Experience engaging with law enforcement and authorities for criminal referrals.
  • Experience working with technology companies, with the ability to understand technical issues.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity, privacy, anti-bribery and anti-corruption, consumer protection, antitrust, contract, content moderation/safety, employment, or IP law issues in a technology context.

About the job

As an Investigations Counsel you’ll join a Global team that addresses emerging risks pertaining to how we manage, support, and respond to the workforce. You will work with Global Affairs, People Operations, Global Security and Resilience Services, Communications, Engineering, and other Investigation teams.

Responsibilities

  • Advise on and lead higher risk insider data security incidents.
  • Advise on responses to regulatory inquiries, investigations, litigation, enforcement actions, and overlapping civil matters.
  • Oversee the collection and production of accurate information in external submissions and disclosures.
  • Provide legal advice on government and regulatory audits and exams.
  • Conduct defensible and efficient internal investigations.
