Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in program management.
  • Experience in any of the following: Design for Excellence, New Product Introduction, Contract Manufacturing, Product Development, or Electrical/Mechanical Assembly.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience working in high-volume and high-precision consumer electronics industry.
  • Knowledge of metals finishing and processes including surface finishing, blasting, tumbling, polishing, lapping, anodizing, plating, wet coat, pad printing, silk screening, physical vapor deposition (PVD), computer numerical control (CNC) process, machining, lathing or grinding.
  • Understanding of JMP or Minitab.
  • Ability to create tolerance stack ups for assemblies and part level.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You're equally at home explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.

Using your extensive technical and leadership expertise, you manage projects of various size and scope, identifying future opportunities, improving processes and driving the technical directions of your programs.

The Health Platforms and Devices team builds innovative products and services that help our users live longer, healthier lives. We bring together the best of Google technologies and AI, health behavior science, and user-centered design to help users organize the health and wellness data, get insight from it, and take action toward their health goals. We do this with a suite of apps, services, and health wearables. We aim to make consumer health more personal, proactive, and actionable.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and qualify manufacturing processes by identifying product requirements and testing methods.
  • Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
  • Drive Failure Analysis (FA) and Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) to resolve technical issues during NPI builds.
  • Establish manufacturing standards and initiate change control processes at Contract Manufacturers (CM).
  • Monitor product yields and propose Design of Experiments (DOE) to verify process improvements.
