Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 15 years of equivalent experience in physical security management with 5 years in corporate security
  • 12 years of experience in a people management, supervision, or team leadership role, and coordinating/managing resources
  • 7 years of experience managing physical security incidents and crises
  • Ability to communicate in English fluently to support client relationship management in this region

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree
  • Security Industry Professional Certifications
  • Experience with physical security, investigations, compliance or risk management
  • Experience with data center or critical infrastructure security
  • Knowledge of physical security system architecture, components, installation methods, administration, and troubleshooting

About the job

Google’s Data Center Compliance, Safety, and Risk Management (CSRM) team is a dedicated organization chartered with protecting the people and assets of Google’s global critical infrastructure. CSRM consists of industry leading professionals who leverage advanced security systems, dedicated guarding forces, and rigorous risk management and compliance framework programs to support the entirety of Google Data Centers.

As a Data Center Regional Security Manager, you will lead a team of security practitioners to execute a physical security risk management program to include crisis response and compliance functions within the Data Centers or related technical infrastructure.

As Regional Security Manager, Data Center Compliance, Security & Risk Management, you oversee a team responsible for the security management of an entire geographic region of technical infrastructure locations, and work on ensuring sites are in compliance with all regional governmental and regulatory requirements. You deliver solutions for ambiguous or new problems, by leading teams in exploring the capabilities of existing or developing new systems and aligning resources to see the solution through to completion. You'll influence and lead cross-organizational collaborations while directing the integration of multiple work streams on teams. You act as a trusted authority on strategic matters and provide domain expertise for a critical part of Google's security infrastructure.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $186,000-$264,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement Corporate Security strategy, policies, and standards to ensure the physical safety of all people, property, and assets and ensure compliance with all applicable governmental and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Manage the daily operations and budget of security managers, vendor guard force, and technicians across a geographic region for technical infrastructure locations.  Ability to travel up to 20%.  
  • Anticipate, assess, and manage physical security risks by identifying behaviors and/or activities of concern.
  • Manage and control incidents and crises that could negatively impact Google. Provide after-hours on-call management support and act as primary point of contact in emergent, large-scale event response, or crisis management when needed.
  • Deliver programs and communications on security policies and topics to ensure staff is adequately informed and equipped to identify potential security issues.
