Market Consultant, Labor Relations, (Japanese, English)

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business/Business Law, Human Resources, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of HR Business Partner or HR Generalist experience.
  • Ability to communicate in Japanese and English fluently, to support stakeholders in Japan.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience managing ambiguity and analyzing metrics to find root causes, identity opportunities, and adjust strategy accordingly.
  • Experience in leading and implementing global, HR operational projects including system applications, associated risk management/mitigation and supporting change management, business readiness, communications, and training activities.
  • Understanding of local labour law and labour relations environment.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and collaboratively across teams and act as a trusted advisor to all levels of management.

About the job

In this role, you will be part of labor relations professionals. You will build and manage the relationship with local Labor Management Councils/Committees (LMCs), building on Google’s culture and values.

Responsibilities

  • Manage relationship with employee representatives and third parties work together with the Business and other stakeholders (People Ops, Employee Relations, Employment Legal) to ensure Google’s compliance with its information and consultation obligations under local legislation.
  • Provide leadership to mitigate risk and build constructive labour relations with employee representatives in Japan.
  • Evaluate and improve labour relations processes to increase efficiency, taking into account local legal requirements.
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive training to improve labour relations acumen and skills across HR and internal stakeholders.
  • Act as a trusted and expert advisor to HR and management on labor relations issues. This includes monitoring and analyzing internal and external trends, regulatory changes and providing guidance for HR and leaders.
