Treasury Accountant

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in public accounting or industry.
  • Experience with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), including experience with Investments, Derivatives and Fair Value (ASC320, ASC815 and ASC820).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience using accounting systems and accounting books of record (e.g., SAP, CapellaFX/GTreasury, State Street, Clearwater Analytics).
  • Ability to learn quickly on the job to execute tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, and ability to make well-reasoned and timely decisions by applying analytical skills.

Google accountants are a savvy bunch who handle the core accounting responsibilities at Google. You know your accounting principles and the full accounting process end to end. You'll advise on financial reports required by governmental regulations, and review, analyze, and interpret financial and budgetary reports. You'll lead an accounting process from end-to-end. Other responsibilities include reconciling balance sheets and P&L accounts, and providing supplementary financial information for internal and external reports.

In this role, you will be responsible for accounting and reporting the Treasury’s activities and operations as well as project management of ongoing initiatives. You'll be part of a team of Treasury Accountants that works both collectively and independently to maintain and execute operational excellence in monthly and quarterly close related activities, enhance the internal control framework for scale, as well as diligence, and onboard and provide continued support to ongoing and existing treasury initiatives.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $102,000-$146,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Lead in special projects and initiatives, planning and execution from time to time focusing on treasury related activities.
  • Coordinate complex and long-term system implementation and enhancements, and deliver high-quality, sustainable automation and improvements in supporting business growth.
  • Participate in monthly and quarterly close related activities including investments (AFS), Fair Value, CECL, FX remeasurement and translation, structured investments, and derivatives and hedging. This includes the associated internal and external (10Q/K) financial reporting process.
  • Participate in systems implementation and lead UAT testing to ensure treasury controllership objectives are met. Further enhance relationships with other internal stakeholders such as corporate engineering or PMO and drive results-oriented coordination.
  • Support cash and other short-term liquid asset classes from project implementation through monthly accounting and reporting cycles.
