  • 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
  • 5 years of experience with with data structures or algorithms.
  • 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.
  • Experience in designing/building or working with full-stack architectures.
  • Experience software engineering for wearable devices.
  • Experience with power or performance optimization.

Pixel Watch Frameworks team has supported a large number of watch features in the past and is bringing functionality like Smart Replies and Magic Actions to the watch form factor. We manage the unique challenges of the wearable form factor, focusing on reliability, performance, and power efficiency.

As a member of this team, you will build and support the future of a platform used by millions of people every day.

The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $166,000-$244,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to on-watch User Context Database and private local inference projects.
  • Develop integration between Watch and Phone contextual features.
  • Design and build future WearOS platform features.
  • Work on full-stack development on Android and Wear.
  • Optimize systems for power and performance.
