Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
- 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
- Experience in the Java programming language.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
- 5 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
- 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.
- Ability to build large, high-performance, scalable distributed systems.

In this role, you will help users discover the opportunities and personalized gains available through a Premium subscription, ensuring they can fully leverage our most advanced features to reach their goals.
Responsibilities
- Architect, build, and maintain scalable services and APIs using Java and Google’s infrastructure to support Fitbit Premium.
- Take end-to-end responsibility for the software development lifecycle, from ideation, technical design and implementation to testing and operational maintenance.
- Partner with product managers and mobile engineers to define API specifications and ensure seamless feature integration within the Fitbit app.
- Conceptualize and implement technical solutions that surface the value of Premium features and coaching to drive subscription growth.
- Analyze complex challenges, write maintainable code, and monitor service performance to ensure high availability and low latency.
