Senior Software Engineer, PDEIO Aluminium

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in software development, in one or more programming languages.
  • 2 years of experience with software design and architecture.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working on ChromeOS, Android or other operating systems.
  • Experience with large-scale open-source projects.
  • Understanding of power management and performance optimization techniques.
  • Familiarity with firmware development, low-level system programming, and AI/ML concepts and their application in software development.
  • Ability to drive projects separately and collaboratively.
  • Excellent problem-solving, and communication skills.

In this role, you will be a key player in PEDIO Aluminium's Platform Enablement team, you will provide crucial support for our high-touch labs and empower development by creating specialized tools and robust test frameworks for platform components.

We are not just about maintaining systems, we are pushing innovation by leveraging AI. You will play a vital role in the successful launch of Aluminium, while ensuring the continued high quality of ChromeOS.

Your contributions will impact the stability, performance, velocity, and overall quality of both ChromeOS and Aluminium. Enable developers across the ecosystem to build exceptional products.

If you are passionate about architecting and maintaining the foundational Test Automation Framework that drives Aluminium and ChromeOS forward, and can handle new tests in an evolving, AI-enabled environment.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $166,000-$244,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute Technically Complex Applied-AI initiatives to enhance test coverage, improve test efficacy and quality from conception to delivery.
  • Develop Customized Multi-Device Scalable Frameworks to support Aluminium/ChromeOS Platform Components.
  • Drive and oversee critical firmware quality initiatives, addressing long-standing issues and ensuring the achievement of committed Service Level Objective (SLOs).
  • Deliver robust system health infra solutions and dashboards, specifically from Power and Performance (PnP) aspects for ChromeOS and Aluminium.
  • Collaborate effectively with engineering and cross-functional teams to identify root causes, unblock technical tests, and drive impactful solutions to expedite the delivery of Aluminium platforms.
