Product Manager I, Chrome Web Store

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of experience in product management or related technical role.
  • 1 year of experience taking technical products from conception to launch.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a technology or business related field.
  • Knowledge of building accessibility and experience for incorporating inclusion and accessibility into product development methodologies.
  • Understanding of web technologies, and the software development lifecycle. Ability to communicate with engineers and understand technical concepts related to scalability, and performance.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data to drive decisions and measure impact. Experience with data analysis tools and techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, policy, legal, security).
  • Passion and understanding of online safety, security risks, and privacy.

Our team works closely with creative engineers, designers, marketers, etc. to help design and develop technologies that improve access to the world's information. We're responsible for guiding products throughout the execution cycle, focusing specifically on analyzing, positioning, packaging, promoting, and tailoring our solutions to our users.

As a Product Manager focused on Trust and Safety, you will be at the forefront of protecting and enhancing the experience for both users and developers within one of the platforms. You will drive the product goals and strategy for trust and safety, working closely with a team of engineers, security analysts, and policy experts to build innovative solutions, particularly focusing on automating the security and quality review of Chrome Extensions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the product goals and strategy for ensuring the trust and safety of the Chrome Web Store and Chrome Extensions ecosystem.
  • Define and prioritize product initiatives to enhance the security and quality of Chrome Extensions, working closely with security analysts, the review team, the policy manager, and engineering.
  • Drive the development and implementation of automated systems and processes to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of security and quality reviews for Chrome Extensions.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to build tools and infrastructure that support proactive detection and mitigation of harmful extensions.
  • Analyze data and user feedback to identify trends, measure the impact of trust and safety initiatives, and inform product decisions.
