Strategic Solutions Engineer, Data Engine, Cortex Framework

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 9 years of experience in software development (for e.g. C/C++, C#, Java, Python, or Go).
  • 9 years of experience with distributed computing, big data analytics, cloud computing, multi-tenant cloud, or AI.
  • Experience with cloud compute platforms such as Kubernetes, Google Cloud Functions.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Certifications in one or more Google Cloud Architect and equivalent productive implementation.
  • Experience designing solutions for productive use and scale.
  • Experience in launching and delivering technology software solutions in market or delivery of solutions with Google (3-5 launches/deployments).
  • Experience in architecting and developing software or infrastructure for scalable, distributed systems.

About the job

In this role, you will focus on leading the technical strategy, architecture, and design for enterprise focused data and Artificial Intelligence (AI) accelerators that are launched into the market and made available to our customers to accelerate their data and AI journey with Google Cloud. You will lead technical innovation with surrounding Cloud Applications Product and Engineering teams and will define technical strategy and design artifacts for our solutions, lead and perform technical design reviews, perform concept phase design and prototyping, and contribute code for strategic engineering focus areas as determined by business and strategic priorities.


You will have knowledge of data streaming, transformation and ingestion development using Google Cloud Platform (GCP) tools and technologies (GKE, DataFlow, BQ, GCS, etc) in the context of AI and investigative data solutions. You are an expert on integration design and have knowledge in key areas such as Supply Chain and Logistics, and Manufacturing along with experience delivering AI and analytics solutions with key applications and platforms.

You will have opportunities for data and AI innovation and how to apply Google’s strategy and products into the launch of new data and AI solutions and accelerators into the market. You will have fluid, iterative approach to continuously learn and refine execution and delivery strategy to increase adoption of our technologies and advance our solutions that are developing and delivering to market. You will help shape and pioneer the near and longer term data and AI solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain technical components of current solution portfolio such as the Manufacturing Data Engine. Provide technical leadership to the Engineering teams, deliver concept design and technical design documents, lead design reviews and facilitate technical feature scoping and prioritization and technical roadmap 
  • Work with our customer facing teams to provide knowledge and support on technical topics regarding our current solutions such as Manufacturing Data Engine. 
  • Provide technical design for enterprise and strategic solutions (e.g. GenAI, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and enterprise data and analytics)), and technical liaison for analytics solutions with surrounding Product Engineering teams.
  • Define and guide the overall technical strategy of the technical area. Suggest new architectures and enhancements that could be added to current solutions. 
  • Explore future technical concepts and solutions with surrounding Product teams and deliver concept prototyping, hackathons and developer relations.
