Cluster Manager, Environmental Health and Safety

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental, or Safety Science, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) (e.g., program management, environmental compliance, and emergency response).

Preferred qualifications:

  • 6 years of experience in Environmental Health and Safety.
  • Experience with UK regulations for facilities and employees.
  • Experience dealing with regulatory authorities.
  • Knowledge of local Environmental, Health and Safety legislation and standards as they apply to business operations.

About the job

Keeping Googlers safe and secure, managing disruptive incidents and crises, and the ability to anticipate, deter, detect, and act are the pillars of Google’s Global Security and Resilience Services (GSRS) team.

As a member of GSRS, you will help develop a culture where safety, security and resilience are integrated into every facet of Google, including the creative process. You will help us continually identify, evaluate, and monitor enterprise risks that could affect business activities and provide business leaders the information they need to make critical decisions. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to create innovative strategies and develop exceptional programs that drive sustainable effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deploy local policies, standard operating procedures and guidance as related to Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Operations, emergency management and events. 
  • Interpret and provide guidance to business leadership for compliance on local policies, legislation and regulations.
  • Implement EHS related solutions in partnership with cross-functional teams such as Workplace Services and Security. 
  • Deploy and audit EHS programs.
  • Implement effective emergency management solutions in relation to medical, fire and disaster situations.
