Silicon Validation Engineer, CPU

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in developing test and debug infrastructure (software tools, lab equipment) and test/lab automation scripting.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience programming in C, embedded C, and with scripting in Python/Perl/Tcl.
  • Experience executing tests on emulation platforms, or FPGA and with JTAG debuggers (e.g. Lauterbach).
  • Experience with complex system debug, embedded operating systems and bare metal programming.
  • Knowledge of programming, debugging, protocol debugging, C, design validation, technical troubleshooting, test coverage, test automation, embedded systems, ARM processor, ARM CPU architecture, and ARMv8/ARMv9 ISA.
  • Knowledge of OS fundamentals, pre-silicon (Emulation), and post silicon.
  • Ability to define a silicon validation test plan by reading the specification, CPU uArch and coherent fabric, with excellent silicon debugging skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute test procedures to establish functionality of the new silicon.
  • Debug failures with cross-functional teams for silicon, boards, software, and manufacturing.
  • Provide regular updates about silicon health to platform, software and volume manufacturing teams.
  • Plan, develop, and execute tests to validate CPU subsystem and integration at the system level.
  • Validate design on pre-silicon and post-silicon platforms and support silicon debug and field failures, interface with software, architecture, design, and DV teams to create test plans.
