Director, Data Center Partnerships

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Public Policy, Finance, Real Estate, Technology, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 15 years of experience building and executing asset strategies in the context of the India Region.
  • Experience building and managing teams, with cross-functional engagement.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with real estate markets within India and establishing infrastructure in markets.
  • Experience in collocation agreements, site selection for industrial-scale projects, real estate evaluation, acquisition, development, construction, utility agreements management, energy challenges, implementing clean energy initiatives, or financial modeling.
  • Experience in economic development policy, financial modeling, infrastructure development, agreement drafting/redlining, and presentation development.
  • Experience in power transmission and distribution, telecommunications infrastructure, data center technology, industrial class electrical and cooling technology, or other related areas of technical expertise.

As Director, you'll work within Google’s global Energy and Location Strategy team. You will be accountable for delivery of all data center location strategy and site selection work in India including indirect oversight of a cross-functional team of Strategic Negotiators, Public Affairs Managers, Energy Negotiators, Markets/Regulatory Negotiators, and Planners.

In this position, you will also play a key role in overall portfolio management for existing data centers sites and related infrastructure. You'll also support the development of the company’s global energy portfolio strategy to support the company’s goal to deliver 100% 24x7 carbon free energy by 2030.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver the data center location strategy and site selection work in India including oversight of a cross-functional team of Strategic Negotiators, Public Affairs Managers, Energy Negotiators, Markets/regulatory Negotiators, and Planners.
  • Play a key role in overall portfolio management for existing data centers sites and related infrastructure.
  • Support the development of the company’s global energy portfolio strategy to support the company’s goal to deliver 100% 24x7 carbon free energy by 2030.
  • Be responsible for a strategy that encompasses many countries across different continents, and grows quickly.
  • Act as a key regional leader for Global Technical Infrastructure and engage with other leaders across the Region and globally. Advocate and represent our core priorities and values with regional political leadership and other external parties.
