Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Math or a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in full-stack software development and system design.
  • Experience with front-end languages (e.g., JavaScript or TypeScript).
  • Experience with back-end languages (e.g., Java, Python, or C++).
  • Experience in working with database technologies (e.g., SQL, NoSQL).

Preferred qualifications:

  • 4 years of experience in designing and optimizing databases.
  • 4 years of experience in designing and optimizing databases.
  • 4 years of experience with cloud, containerized, or microservice architectures.
  • 2 years of experience in collaborating with team and business stakeholders on project requirements.
  • 2 years of experience with Site Reliability Engineering, Information Security or Developer Operations (DevOps) practices.

The YouTube GTMS Technology and Insights focuses on the business and operations side of YouTube, providing tools and systems that enable thousands of Google employees to support the growth of creators, artists, and YouTube.

Technology and Insights's Support Systems domain delivers technology to YouTube Support, optimizing the systems that empower the global support communities, ensuring quality experiences for the users.

In this role, you will be responsible for building and managing solutions that make the YouTube Support organization more efficient. You will help to drive the development of tools and will be involved in ideating required product features and designing/implementing solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, deploy, and improve full-stack web applications using standard and Google-specific software development tools. Ensure reliable back-ends, build pipelines to aggregate data from multiple sources, implement User Experience (UX)-rich front-ends, or enhance performance of existing tools and services.
  • Analyze problems and develop solutions, while identifying dependencies and resolving issues to drive implementation.
  • Make technical contributions including writing and reviewing design documents, tests, and code (e.g., JavaScript, Python, TypeScript, SQL)
  • Provide subject-matter expertise and utilize knowledge of Google's technologies, principles, practices, and coding standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional users and stakeholders to identify issues and provide technical solutions.
