Legal Trainee (Nordics, English) (Fixed-Term Contract)

Minimum qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Law (LL.M) from a Nordic University.
  • Experience building relationships and communicating with individuals at all levels of an organization.
  • Ability to communicate in English and one of the Nordic languages (i.e., Danish, Finnish, Norwegian, Swedish or Icelandic) fluently to support client relationship management in this region.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in legal analysis and research.
  • Experience working on numerous projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working in a law firm, or a media/technology company.

About the job

As a Legal Trainee, you will help to respond to legal challenges of the information age. You will get an insight into a variety of legal challenges at Google and YouTube, while promoting the development of internet law in an unconventional environment. In this role, you will get the opportunity to demonstrate that you have sound legal judgment, can learn quickly in a fast-paced environment, and can communicate confidently at all levels.

Available to start between February to March 2025 for a 12 months fixed-term contract.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to various legal requests from users and third-parties in relation to Google services and be the first point of contact for internal teams.
  • Assist the Legal team in the analysis, preparation and/or the management of court proceedings.
  • Assist in a variety of projects, such as the localization of Google products, marketing assessments, the review and drafting of agreements.
  • Conduct legal research on a variety of legal topics (e.g., intellectual property, consumer regulations, media regulations, marketing law, data protection, AI, etc.).
  • Participate in the creation and maintenance of internal knowledge databases for the Legal team.
