Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 15 years of experience leading cloud or software sales organizations (e.g., driving strategies and sales performance to achieve revenue targets and profitability).
  • 10 years of experience offering products to State, Local, and Education (SLED) clients.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience driving forward-thinking and innovative approaches to solve complex business problems where precedents may not exist.
  • Experience leading external conversations about the future of cloud, data, and AI technologies, including current technology trends, Google Cloud differentiators, and how they can apply to customers’ strategic business opportunities and challenges.
  • Experience with C-level customer relationships and connectivity in relevant markets.
  • Experience with business and financial accountability (e.g., P&L management, forecasting).
  • Experience overseeing highly matrixed, cross-functional teams, mobilizing people and integrating work streams toward shared objectives and a compelling, long-term vision.

About the job

As the SLED Director for US East, you are responsible for defining and executing Google Cloud's overall strategy, vision, and business success within the country. You will lead the country sales organization to be high performing, consultative sellers, building the skills, resources and future-forward vision needed to exceed revenue and consumption targets for our Public Sector accounts. You will increase your organization’s technical fluency, enabling sellers to more effectively align Google Cloud’s portfolio of solutions to customers’ unique business challenges. You will be the advocate for Google Cloud, representing the company to media, business, government, and customers. Internally, you will drive cross-functional alignment and indirectly managing the Cloud ecosystem in-country, ensuring an integrated go-to-market approach between Sales, Marketing, Operations, Product, and more.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $170,000-$239,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a country-wide strategy and sales plan to meet business objectives, identify revenue growth potential, and anticipate complex challenges and opportunities. Contribute strategically to the growth and direction of Google Cloud products and services in the region.
  • Ensure that country business goals, quotas, and sales operational performance targets are achieved.
  • Identify, build, and own complex, strategic relationships with highly influential C-suite clients and external stakeholders, including government authorities and policymakers.
  • Cultivate a strategic ecosystem of partners, leveraging their capabilities to create comprehensive, end-to-end customer solutions.
  • Lead global transformations, performance management, leader development, and enablement at the country-level, advancing technical proficiency, data and AI fluency, and consultative selling, and unlocking performance through every stage of the business cycle.
