Product and Business Strategy Leaders bring together teams across Google’s functions to help products execute optimally. Our team pushes Google to scale at key points that refine our products and infrastructure by executing efficiently, bringing solid business sense and sound judgment, and working effectively across organizational lines.

Our roles often include components of strategy (e.g. analyzing and understanding new trends in the industry, building business plans), operations (e.g. running the cadence of organizations, connecting the operating lines between our functions), and communications. Our team partners with senior leadership to run important functions that cross-cut our existing organizations and deliver high impact projects. We help Engineers, PMs, UX, and all of our other functions to build amazing products that delight our users, and then get those products into their hands.

Play’s mission is to become the most trusted everything marketplace. Play provides apps, games, and digital content services that bring Android devices to life. Googlers working on Play do everything from shaping the product strategy, to engineering our back-end systems, to forming content partnerships. They make it possible for people to do things like buy a game or app on their Android phone, then have it instantly available across all devices. The Play Store serve users around the world, and is a critical driver of Google’s overall business growth.

In this role, you will gather critical insights to ensure cross-functional alignment of goals and execution, that drives strategic partnerships and new initiatives forward. You will stay focused in aligning the highest-level company priorities with day-to-day operations, and help evolve early stage ideas into future-growth initiatives.

Google Play offers music, movies, books, apps and games for devices, powered by the cloud. It syncs across devices and on the web. As part of the Android and Mobile team, Googlers working on Google Play do everything from engineering our backend systems, to shaping product strategy, to forming great content partnerships. They make it possible for people to do things like buy an ebook or song on their Android phone, then have it instantly available on their laptop. The Google Play team enhances the Android ecosystem by giving developers and partners a premium store where they can reach millions of users.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $126,000-$181,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

  • Focus on product strategy and operations for the Play developer platform, collaborating closely with Product and Engineering teams.
  • Build scalable engagement models and programs with critical cross-functional partners.
  • Define execution plans and business strategies in partnership with cross-functional teams.
  • Lead end-to-end process improvements to maximize organizational efficiency.
  • Support product initiatives by aligning stakeholders across product, engineering, legal, finance, and compliance.
