Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 7 years of experience in business development, partnerships, management consulting, or investment banking, or 5 years with advanced degree.
- Experience in the Consumer Electronics, Auto, OEMs, Telecom, E-Commerce/Retail, Apps, Ads, Gaming, or Technology industries.
- Experience working with C-level executives and cross-functionally across multiple levels of management.
- Experience managing agreements or partnerships.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in retail banking, payments or merchants, and e-commerce platforms.
- Experience managing partners to drive growth and partnership success, with the ability to grasp technical and product concepts.
- Ability to negotiate and structure contracts, interpret legal documents, and work with legal to sign and close agreements.
- Ability to grow in fast paced, matrixed, and ambiguous start-up like environments.
- Excellent communication skills to formulate and articulate business, financial and other points with partners as well as internal Google teams.

In this role, your goal is to grow Commerce by making Payments simple, secure and smart for everyone, everywhere whether it’s offline or online. You will work with the top partners across the Commerce and Payments value chain including but not limited to Banks, Networks, Merchants, and Processors to create memorable payment experiences, and with our cross-functional partners: Product, Engineering, Legal, and Marketing to bring new payment solutions to market, test, iterate, improve and scale them globally.Your role requires flexibility to try solutions, adapt and quickly course correct, as needed. You will experience in navigate organizations and work across multiple Product Areas within Google to craft creative solutions for the partner’s business issues. You will require fluency with contract negotiations and renewals spanning a range of *first-of-kind* partnerships and representing Google with mid to executives across partner organizations.
You will manage partnerships within one of two domains. In the Financial Institutions/Issuers domain, you will guide and drive our business development and product go-to-market efforts for Google Pay with partners, especially banks, issuers, and Fintechs. In the Merchants domain, you will direct and drive business development and product go-to-market efforts for Google Pay with partners, especially merchants and e-commerce platforms.The Global Partnerships organization is responsible for exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Google’s Global Partnerships team works with a wide range of partners to bring the best of Google to power their business. The Global Partnerships team supports Google’s own Product teams with essential partnerships to help Google’s user experiences in advertising, Search, Assistant, Maps, Travel, Shopping, Payments and more. Teams create product-enabling partnerships, go-to-market strategies and incubate business growth for a variety of products.
Responsibilities
- Establish payments strategy by collaborating with cross-functional leaders and integrating Google capabilities to ensure execution across AI and non-AI user journeys.
- Negotiate and execute agreements involving data rights, regulatory obligations, and technical requirements, while managing business and technical trade-offs with internal stakeholders.
- Manage a portfolio of partners and drive growth initiatives to meet product goals, using an understanding of partner needs to provide feedback that informs product decisions.
- Develop business models by working with cross-functional teams, with a focus on future business generation initiatives.
- Drive presentations and recommendations to leadership regarding business performance indicators and emerging technology, market and partner trends.
