Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 14 years of experience leading a risk and compliance function as a risk and compliance consultant or advisor.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience managing complex regulatory matters which involve risk mitigation under strict deadlines.
- Experience presenting to board of directors, including risk committee of board, and executive business meetings.
- Experience building teams and cultures across multiple countries.
About the job
The Google Compliance team makes sure that our business is always consistent with the current financial regulations. Comprised of multitaskers, this team balances Google's legal and compliance requirements with the dynamic needs of our users and the values of our company. As part of this team, you proactively identify pain points and gaps in existing policy frameworks and find innovative solutions. You develop efficient compliance systems and work with teams to implement these across the organization. You are thorough in all you do and see to it that as Google pursues our next big idea, we always have our bases covered.
It is our on-the-ground team to ensure that our centralized risk and compliance program (e.g., compliance, controls, governance, risk, monitoring) is implemented and working in India and our APAC region. You will manage a small team and be connected with local Extended Workforce Solutions partners, local compliance teams and risk partners, and business leaders. The areas of responsibility may vary depending on the highest risk. In all cases, you will learn and understand local business priorities and risks in the extended workforce space with an emphasis on third-party risk management and contingent workforce risk.
Responsibilities
- Lead a small team of local team members in country.
- Run and manage our central Risk and Compliance (R&C) program for our APAC region.
- Align with the local Extended Workforce Solutions, local risk and compliance teams, audit, and other teams as necessary to understand local risks for escalation, reporting, and remediation.
- Be aware of and integrate local/regional risk trends and topics, benchmark competitor programs for best practices, and escalate through appropriate channels of keep Alphabet ahead of risks and threats in the region.
- Attend the appropriate local governance forums and committees to represent Extended Workforce Solutions (xWS) and xWS R&C, and ensure risks are communicated and the appropriate steps taken to mitigate risk.
