Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience with diagnosing and troubleshooting operating systems, computer hardware and server hardware.
  • Experience with networking protocols.
  • Experience with performing component-level repairs on IT equipment.
  • Ability to lift/move 50lb (23kg) of equipment as required and ability to exert yourself physically over extended periods of time, including frequent bending, kneeling, climbing, pushing/pulling and lifting.
  • Must have the ability to work non-standard hours, including working weekends, night shifts, holidays and on shift-based schedules as required.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 6 years of experience in maintenance and monitoring of server systems.
  • Experience working within a data center or network operation center environment.
  • Experience collaborating and partnering with teams.
  • Experience in team and project management and leadership.

As an Operations Technician, you'll install, configure, test, troubleshoot and maintain hardware (like servers and its components) and server software (like Google's Linux cluster). You'll participate in or lead small project teams on larger installations and develop project contingency plans. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $115,000-$165,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Manage construction activities across teams of moderate to high complexity at facilities, supporting service vendors while ensuring safety, security, and compliance, and identifying needs to co-ordinate resource allocation for space expansion and modification design.
  • Create and configure scripts and tools for data center-related tracking and reporting by compiling and analyzing data in line with project objectives, with some guidance.
  • Deploy and operate new data center infrastructure across teams, providing expertise and mentorship.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose moderately complex equipment by reporting problems and following data center procedures, identifying resources needed to resolve issues.
  • Perform, repair, maintenance, and preventative care on equipment, servers, machines, or infrastructure based on identified issues with limited precedent, separately.
