Customer Engineer, Google Cloud

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 1 year of experience with cloud native architecture and development methodologies in a customer-facing or support role.
  • Experience delivering technical presentations.
  • Experience with one or more programming languages.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience developing programs/scripts in Python, Java, C++, SQL.
  • Experience building or troubleshooting websites or web applications using web technologies (e.g., HTTP(S), JavaScript, APIs, TCP/IP, DNS).
  • Experience in architecture and developing software for scalable, distributed systems.
  • Experience in the technology industry or working in a specialist area of technology.
  • Knowledge of public cloud platforms and technical concepts such as AI, Big Data, PaaS, SaaS, IaaS, and related industry topics.
  • Ability to lead architecture discussions and influence key decision makers around deployment topologies, scaling, performance and sizing.

Responsibilities

  • Help build creative solutions to challenging customer needs using Google Cloud. Improve product feature offerings by providing customer feedback to internal cross-functional teams including Product Management and Engineering.
  • Solve customers' operational issues through problem-solving and technical troubleshooting, while working with internal teams to drive resolution. Help customers get answers to product questions.
  • Organize and execute prototype workshops to prove out proposed architectures, develop best practices and document technical blockers for prioritization with engineering.
  • Travel to customer sites, conferences, and other customer related events as required.
  • Collaborate with customers to drive successful adoption and guide them through the entire innovation lifecycle, develop solution architectures and strategic roadmaps to achieve key milestones.
