Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
- 1 year of experience with one or more of the following: on-device machine learning, mobile algorithms, LLM/GenAI evaluations, data collection for ML, and Android development.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience and domain expertise in AI toolchain, evaluation metrics design, and data management techniques.
- Experience with implementing compute-heavy algorithms on mobile systems.
- Experience in collaborating across US and APAC sites and timezones.
- Experience in launching one or multiple AI/ML powered user-facing products.

In this role, you will be responsible for enhancing the development and deployment experiences for intelligent applications on Pixel and Android, leveraging the latest on-device and server based models. This includes tasks such as platform design, model evaluation methodologies, metrics design, and data analysis. You will be collecting, training, and evaluating data and Machine Learning (ML) quality for a variety of use cases, working with teams across Google to design and implement new infrastructure and tooling for Pixel and Android Artificial Intelligence (AI) development.

Responsibilities
- Design tools/platforms/frameworks to enhance intelligent applications development, with focus on model evaluation, quality, and performance on Pixel and Android in a private and safe manner.
- Craft evaluation datasets, metrics, and pipelines to understand, evaluate and optimize the behavior of our models, platform and algorithms. Possibly support a multitude of user facing features that rely on the quality and performance of these algorithms, as running on-device and across different interfaces.
- Support a multitude of user-facing features that rely on the quality and performance of these algorithms, as running on compute-constrained embedded systems.
- Interface with multitude of teams across Product Areas and cross-functional partners to influence cross-team priority and roadmap.
- Clarify product and technical ambiguities with fast prototyping and metrics driven development processes.
