Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Real Estate, Engineering, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 15 years of experience in financial structuring, principal investing, corporate development, or related fields involving capital-intensive infrastructure projects or real assets (e.g., data centers, energy, utilities, real estate).

Preferred qualifications:

  • CFA, CPA, or other relevant professional certifications.
  • Experience in corporate development, M&A, or investment banking focused on large-scale infrastructure or technology assets.

About the job

As the Director of Global Infrastructure and Energy Investments, you will be a critical, senior leader responsible for shaping and executing the financial strategy behind Google's explosive infrastructure growth, specifically within the data center ecosystem. This is a highly strategic role where you'll drive the creation of novel financing models, innovative partnership structures, and strategic investment vehicles to accelerate the deployment of global data center capacity.

You will function as the key interface between Google's massive infrastructure needs and the global investment community, leading the strategy for structuring, negotiating, and executing complex, multi-faceted investment partnerships. You'll think beyond conventional models to deliver transformational results. In this role, you will lead and mentor a high-performing team while personally driving the most critical partnerships.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $262,000-$369,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and manage a high-performing team of professionals, ensuring strategic alignment and professional development. 
  • Develop and implement new, creative models and partnership structures (e.g., joint ventures, equity investments, bespoke financial instruments) to engage the investment community, unlocking critical capital and pipeline opportunities.
  • Build and execute global data center asset portfolio strategies that generate the necessary assets and inform long-term, quantitative return profiles, working in close collaboration with Energy and Location Strategy (ELS) regional execution peers.
  • Own the comprehensive business case creation for major infrastructure asset decisions, structuring sophisticated financial and risk analyses.
  • Act as a principal liaison with external data center investment, private equity, and infrastructure funding partners.
