Engineering Manager, YouTube Over-The-Top

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in back-end development and in Java, Python, GO, or C++ codebases.
  • 5 years of experience designing, deploying, and program managing scaled reporting and Insights infrastructure including data-modeling, and architecture.
  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing projects, with 2 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Ability to learn the latest tools and technologies.
  • Ability to lead and inspire a team of engineers, and support a culture of innovation.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and make strategic decisions that drive business impact.

About the job

As an Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of engineers in transforming the ingestion domain. The team is at the center of the data platform, responsible for the full life-cycle of data ingestion and modeling. The team's mission is to understand and model Over-the-Top (OTT) media content, empowering experiences by creating the high quality, reliable, and versatile OTT data repository.

OTT powers key products, delivering essential content to viewers. As the team continues to power more partners and deliver more features, OTT's infrastructure plays a critical role in driving business growth and expanding the reach of these platforms. You will lead the critical projects in this team that shape the future of data systems and the business.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $189,000-$284,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Manage the revamp of the data model, focusing on diversifying sources, decoupling from traditional data providers, and building a more scalable and flexible architecture.
  • Lead the development of smart reconciliation processes to ensure data consistency and accuracy across all platforms.
  • Focus on enhancing the quality and reliability of systems to ensure seamless user experiences, and collaborate with other teams in the organization to improve quality at scale.
