As an Interaction Designer, you'll apply user-centered design methods to craft industry-leading user experiences from concept to execution, working with design partners to evolve the Google design language to build beautiful, innovative products.

Seed Studio is an innovation group within Google hardware design working in the intersection of design strategy, advanced concepts and creative services to grasp and inform the future of hardware. Help us design, define, and build the future of human-computer interaction. Google works on technologies to enable the next generation of immersive devices and platforms.

In this role, you will focus on ideating and prototyping new form factors and interfaces for agentic computing. You will be inventive in exploring novel paradigms that go beyond traditional models. You will partner closely with visual and motion designers, industrial designers, UX researchers, engineers, and product leads. You will craft compelling user journeys that make advanced technology personal, powerful, and delightful for everyone. As a core contributor, you will own project outcomes by leading the search for solutions to open-ended design problems, using storytelling and prototyping to communicate and validate new ideas.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $189,000-$274,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

  • Drive discovery of future opportunities for Google hardware through the prototyping and validation of new form factors, interfaces, and interaction models.
  • Solve ambiguous and complex design problems involving new paradigms for agentic computing.
  • Work alongside strategists, visual/motion designers and creative technologists to shape product narratives and define product features.
  • Partner with cross-functional and cross-product teams to align on and define product goal and strategy.
  • Own, deliver and communicate design work with strategic reasoning behind design decisions.
