Senior Software Engineering Manager, Virtual Storage (Mandarin, English)

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in software development.
  • 7 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.
  • 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
  • 5 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.
  • Ability to communicate in Mandarin and English fluently to partner with local clients and regional partners.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • 5 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization.
  • Experience in Storage and Virtualization technologies.
  • Experience with storage networking protocols (e.g., NVMe, SCSI, iSCSI, or NFS).

Responsibilities

  • Build a team of engineers that would be responsible for building SSD storage related products, features, reliability and performance. Set and communicate team priorities that support the broader organization's goals. Align strategy, processes, and decision-making across teams.
  • Coordinate and communicate among multiple partner teams, including SSD hardware, Persistent Disk, VM virtualization/hypervisor, and others. Support critical customers with proactive escalation management and effective communication.
  • Develop the mid-term technical goal and roadmap within the scope team(s). Evolve the roadmap to meet anticipated future requirements and infrastructure needs.
  • Design, guide and vet systems designs within the scope of the broader area, and write product or system development code to solve ambiguous problems.
  • Provide long-term goal for storage core features and performance, work closely with partner teams to realize the goal as it goes beyond the virtualization stack.
