Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, HPC, TPU, Google Public Sector

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of experience in software development in C++, Python, Java or similar.
  • 3 year of experience testing, and launching software products, and experience with software design and architecture.
  • 3 years of experience in high performance computing (HPC) system architecture and applications.
  • Must possess an active Top Secret/SCI security clearance with current polygraph.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in delivering solutions that meet public sector security and compliance requirements such as FedRAMP, DoD Impact Levels, or Risk Management Framework.
  • Knowledge of containerization and container orchestration technologies such as Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).

Our mission is to enable our customers to run their most demanding workloads for technical, scientific, and engineering tests on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). For these High Performance Computing (HPC) requirements, we offer supercomputer-class infrastructure (e.g., CPUs, GPUs, or TPUs) that interoperates with other cloud services, from storage to AI.

In this role, you will define and implement reference systems and use-case-focused HPC solutions. This is done through a combination of Infrastructure-as-Code and automation modules that integrate with various Google Cloud Platform (GCP) APIs and tools, such as Google’s Cluster Toolkit.

You will be working with large-scale distributed systems and are expected to have an understanding of how to extract performance across the stack (from hardware architecture to application). You will be applying computational experience in health-care/life science, financial services industry, or manufacturing, including an understanding of AI.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $123,000-$176,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Understand our customers current and future computing goals and generalize them into repeatable usage patterns and adequate cloud architecture.
  • Implement specific HPC solutions as Infrastructure-as-Code and necessary deployment tooling functionality.
  • Work closely with technical leads, product managers and partner service engineering teams to get high-quality features through the software project life-cycle.
  • Serve as a technical advisor and perform troubleshooting to resolve technical tests for customers.
  • Provide both remote and on-site support for the deployment of new cloud capacity and technologies.
